Today I'm sharing my favorite recipe for a simple, healthy blueberry kefir smoothie. You can whip up and enjoy this smoothie in 5 minutes or less. It's also a very versatile recipe that can be changed to suit your preferences. I drink this smoothie, or some variation of it, almost every single morning. It's a great way to start my day with some nutrient rich foods that are super easy to prep.
Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to make sure to get a good amount of nutrients in right from the start. Then no matter what else happens throughout the day, I will know that at least I started out right.
All you need to do is gather 4 simple ingredients.
Then throw all the ingredients in the blender. I have really enjoyed making smoothies so much more now that I have a blendtec. The powerful motor really blends everything together and makes you feel like you are drinking a smoothie from a shop!
Then blending it all together!
And drinking to your health.
Blueberry Kefir Smoothie Recipe
8 oz kefir, yogurt, or liquid
1 c spinach, kale, or mix of greens (if you are just starting to add greens start with less and work your way up to that)
1 c frozen berries (blueberries are my favorite and produce a very sweet flavor!)
1 banana (this thickens and sweetens smoothie. Some times my kids eat all the bananas so I use 1 Tbsp of honey to sweeten instead. The smoothie is a little less sweet.
Make sure to drink it right away. If you don't it will thicken up a lot and it changes the texture completely. Let me know what you think of this blueberry kefir smoothie!
