Pom Pom Preschool Counting Ideas

I have taught children (in varying capacities) my entire adult life. In my experience I have found that the most simple, every day items really seem to capture the attention of kids a lot better than flashy, extravagant toys. These pom pom preschool activities are the perfect example of that.

Valentine's Day Party

I had so  much fun planning this Valentine's Day party. I was able to keep it fun by doing simple ideas that don't take a lot of time to prepare but keep in the spirit of a heart theme. The more relaxed I am, the more fun everyone else has. Today I'm going to share some simple, inexpensive ideas for decorations, treat and activities. Hopefully these simple ideas will inspire you to create your own Valentine's Day party that your kids will love.

Valentine's Wreath for Less than $5

As I have said before, I love to change my seasonal decorations around a lot. That doesn't mean I like to spend a lot of money doing it. I actually enjoy the challenge of finding ways to repurpose what I have or, in this case, find inexpensive ways to make something new. Which is exactly how this Valentine's wreath was born.

Valentine's Printable

Ah, love is in the air. At least it is at my house where I am figuring out how to use these cute new Valentine's printable that I made. I think sticking a printable in a frame is one of the easiest ways to add decorations for holidays, birthdays or other special events. Because it is so inexpensive and takes hardly any time to put up, it's one of my go to tips for decorating with limited time and budget.

Valentine's Decor-Inexpensive and Easy Ideas

You made it through the endless round of holidays that begin in October and continue through January.   Now you have a little breather. But wait, Valentine's Day is just around the corner and before you know it, that will be over too. Today I am going to share some inexpensive and easy Valentine's decor ideas that will help you to celebrate without feeling like you have to spend a lot of time or money on it.

Corn Chex Waffles

I'm so excited to share this Corn Chex waffles recipe today.  It actually came about accidentally. I improvise with ingredients when I don't have everything on hand, especially in the middle of winter when it is difficult to jump in the car and head to the grocery store. In this case, I was trying to make cornmeal waffles to pair with some homemade chili. I searched through my cupboard and found that I only had a little bit of cornmeal left.

Lava Lamp in a Bag

This lava lamp in a bag is the perfect activity for kids on a day when it is either too cold or hot to play outside. With only 3 ingredients that you can find very easily, this activity can be put together quickly and provides lots of entertainment and even some educational value.

If you want to add it to science unit you can talk about the different densities of water and oil and how like molecules are attracted to each other. Or you can just let them play with the bag and watch their delight as they form different patterns merely by pressing down on the bag.
