March Madness Activity

Do you have any basketball fans in your house? My husband loves the month of March and looks forward to it all winter long.  I never grew up watching sports so I learned a lot about the significance of March Madness from him.  Early on in our marriage he came up with a great way to involve our family in his love of this annual basketball tournament and today I'm sharing our March Madness idea with you.

St. Patrick's Day Decorating Tips

Today I am sharing some St. Patrick's Day decorating tips, but really they can apply when you are decorating for lots of things.  I like to decorate for all the holidays in some way or another. My kids love to decorate and create a festive atmosphere and I love to change things.  Even though I like celebrating holidays, I don't always like to spend a lot of time or money decorating for every holiday.

Smore Cookie Bars

These smore cookie bars are the most delicious melt in your mouth treat.  The best part is that you don't have to wait to go camping to enjoy the combination of ooey marshmallows, melted chocolate and graham crackers.  Even better these smore cookie bars come in a compact form that is  so easy to eat that all you have to worry about is figuring out how to share all this goodness before you unknowingly eat half the pan on your own. Umhm.

DIY St Patrick's Day Decor

Today I am sharing two cute diy St. Patrick's Day decor ideas. They are easy to do and can be made with only a few materials and not a lot of money.

I got the inspiration for this project when I visited a Habitat for Humanity Restore.  It is a place where you can buy tools, used furniture and other home items at a discounted rate.  All the proceeds of the sales go to helping build homes in the community and support the Habitat for Humanity projects.

Mint and Lavender Teen Bedroom Makeover

For my daughter's birthday she wanted to redo her room. We had a  budget of $125 to bring her teen bedroom dreams to life. Our starting point was a mint lavender theme with touches of gold added in.

The walls were already painted lavender so we didn't need to spend any money on paint, but we did spend some time retouching some of the spots using leftover paint from when we painted it before.

Young Living Essential Oil Starter Kit

For the month of February I can't help but think that one way I show love is to support the health of my loved ones. Last year about this time I made up my mind to show myself and my family more love by making a really concentrated effort to get rid of chemicals. I started with the Theives Household cleaning kit (read about it here) and soon after bought the Young Living essential oils starter kit.

Mystery Dinner

Today I am sharing an easy and fun mystery dinner activity that you can do with your kids, friends for a party or any time you need a simple and fun activity. I have always loved celebrating holidays and throwing parties, but as a busy mom sometimes it all becomes too much and it's not so fun anymore.

This mystery dinner idea is how I am celebrating Valentine's Day this year with my kids all while keeping my stress level low and the fun, memory making times high.

Youtube Exercise Channels to Follow

Youtube exercise channels should be ALL the rage.  I have been exercising at home for years. I used to walk on a treadmill or work out with DVD's, but I finally transitioned over subscribing to the free Youtube exercise channels and I've never looked back. It's so convenient to pull up one of my favorite workout channels and to find a video based on my mood, goals and time.

Banana Buttermilk Muffins

These banana buttermilk muffins are SO tasty. They are different than typical banana muffin recipes because I make them with whole grain flour. We make these muffins all the time.  One day my nieces and nephew were over when I made them and they had a taste. Every time I saw them after that they asked me if I had any of my banana buttermilk muffins. They are really that good!
